other people think Bill C-10 sucks too

I’ve been watching the numbers of the Facebook group Keep your censoring hands off Canadian film and TV! No to Bill C-10! grow exponentially over the weekend. Friday afternoon there were just over 1000 people, and now on Monday afternoon there are nearly 17,000. It’s really encouraging that other people are offended by the content of the Bill and the sneaky way it was slipped into an income tax bill. While I don’t think that simply joining a Facebook group constitutes political action I do think it’s been a great way to mobilize and share information.

I’m also proud that the BCLA and CLA have sent letters opposing this bill.

This is renewing my hope in the democratic process.

Edit: This group is now at 30,000 people (March 8th)
